High Limit Baccarat

Baccarat is a card game that has its origins in Italy and France.

It is a game favoured by some of world's biggest high rollers, the late Kerry Packer (Australian Tycoon) was particularly fond of this game.

Because of its attraction for wealthy players, a casino may win or lose millions of dollars a night on the game.

The object of Baccarat is to predict whether the banker's hand or the player's hand will get a point value closest to 9, keeping in mind that all ten-value cards count as zero and aces count as one. The hand with the highest point value wins.

How to play

Before you start to play the first time, you will be asked to cut the deck of cards.

Click on the deck of cards to do this.

Use your left mouse button to click on the value of the chip that you wish to wager.

Then place the chip in the desired betting area for PLAYER, BANKER or TIE.

You can remove a wagered chip before the game begins by clicking on the wagered chip with your right mouse button.

When you have placed your bets, click the "DONE" button to start the game round.

Click "SAME BET" to repeat the previously placed bet.

Rules

Once you have placed your wager, click "DONE".

The game will deal two cards to the player and two cards to the banker.

If you have placed the highest player-side wager, you will be given the option to view the cards for the player's side in one of three ways.

If you want to see both cards directly click "TOSS". You may "PEEK" at the cards, look at the cards from a side view by clicking "SIDE" or quick view both cards by clicking "QUICK".

If you choose to peek, side view or quick view you may choose to view the cards one by one by clicking "CARD 1" and "CARD 2" followed by "TOSS".

If you do not hold the highest player-side wager, you will only have the option of viewing the banker-side hand.

The player who has the shoe will always turn i.e. view cards for the banker side.

The player with the highest player-side wager will turn for the player side. It is possible for the player with the shoe to turn for both sides.

The shoe will remain with the player until a player-side wager wins. The shoe will then be passed to the next player.

The player and the banker are each dealt a two-card hand. Then according to the standard baccarat rules stated below, a third card may be dealt to the player and/or the banker.

Ace = one point

Face cards and tens = zero

All other cards carry the point value stated on the card.

If the cards in a hand total more than ten points, simply subtract ten; the remainder is the baccarat point value of the hand.

For example: 8+8=16, which counts as a 6 in baccarat; and 8+9=17, which counts as a 7.

To participate in the game, you place a wager on the banker's hand, on the player's hand, or on a tie.

A tie results when both hands have equal point values. If the game does result in a tie, wagers on the banker and the player are returned.

The following baccarat rule chart governs when the player and/or the bank will be dealt (i.e. "draws") a third card in the Baccarat game.
